[0:07] PCI DSS is the card industry's security standard for handling card data. The PCI compliance fee is a monthly charge most acquirers add to cover it.
[0:14] The cost. Usually 5 to 15 pounds a month. Pay-as-you-go providers like SumUp and Zettle bundle it into the rate. Contract acquirers like Worldpay and Dojo often list it separately on the rate card.
[0:22] The trap. Some acquirers also add a non-compliance fee, sometimes 30 to 40 pounds a month, if you do not complete the yearly self-assessment questionnaire. Many merchants pay this without knowing why.
[0:29] The fix. Complete the SAQ when prompted, usually online in under an hour, and the higher charge drops away.
